Interviews to World Cup Football
Supporters

Carlos, Ecuador supporter, New York
Seven of us are traveling to Japan to watch
the three Ecuador games. I have made this "World
Cup Football CD" for Ecuador football fans,
of which I even did some of the lyrics. Would
you like a copy? Ecuador lost against Italy
at Sapporo Dome, but we're sure they'll do well
in Yokohama and Sendai. This trip has cost me
6,000 U.S. dollars. Prices in Japan are not
as high as I thought. It has been very pleasant
in Sapporo, and I'm impressed how kind and educated
the people are.

Nick Potter, England supporter, Torquay
I bought the tickets to the three England games
through the official England Fan Club. They
were about $130 each. Here, look, I've got a
membership ID card, too, although not everyone
can have one. My plan for this trip? I'm staying
in Sapporo until the team leaves. When England
goes on to the next round of the tournament,
I'll definitely be there too. I go wherever
the team goes.

Barry, England supporter, Huddersfield
I watched Japan vs. Belgium. Inamoto is a great
player, isn't he? I met Nick in Tokyo two days
ago and we traveled up to Sapporo together.
I've spent about $6,000 to $7,000 (U.S.) on
this trip. Everything here costs almost double
the price compared to England, but that's O.K.
I'm really excited about seeing the England
vs. Argentina game in Sapporo. It would have
been a great match for the World Cup final.
